Missions, not gigs

Shoot the dish.
Get paid.

Restaurants want clear photos of every dish they serve. DishShots turns that into missions near you: go, order, photograph the plates on the list, upload, and get paid the amount the mission showed before you took it.

Free to join. Every mission states its pay, its dishes and its deadline before you accept. Your phone camera is enough.

How it works

How a mission works.

01

Pick a mission near you

Each mission names the restaurant, the dishes to photograph, the deadline and what it pays. Accept only the ones that suit you.

02

Order, then shoot the plates

You order the dishes like any diner (the mission says if the cost is covered), and photograph each plate before the first bite.

03

Upload and get paid

Upload your photos by email. A person checks them against the list, and approved missions are paid to you at the pay shown when you accepted.

Free shot list builder

Turn a menu into a shot list.

Paste the dishes, one per line. You get each one with the camera angle that suits it, a time estimate and a lighting check. It runs in your browser.

For photographers

Take
missions.

Tell us where you are and when you eat out. When a mission opens near you we email it with its dishes, pay and deadline, and you reply to take it.

You must be 18 or older. Missions are paid only once the photos are approved.

Pricing

What a menu shoot costs.

Restaurants pay per shoot. Part of every shoot price is paid to the person who takes the photos, and the mission shows them that pay before they accept.

Quick shoot

$79 per shoot, up to 10 dishes

One visit, one photo of each dish from the angle that suits it, edited for light and colour, delivered within 7 days.

Menu shoot

$199 per shoot, up to 30 dishes

Two photos of each dish (overhead and plated view), sized for your menu, website and delivery apps.

Whole menu

$449 per shoot, up to 80 dishes

Every dish on the menu, plus a free reshoot of up to 10 new or changed dishes within 90 days.

Nothing is charged until you approve the quote and the date by email. The cost of the dishes ordered for the shoot is separate and at your menu price, or covered by you as the restaurant.

For restaurants

Questions people ask

How much does a mission pay?

Each mission shows its pay before you accept. It depends on how many dishes it lists and whether the meal cost is covered. We do not promise a weekly amount.

Do I pay for the food?

The mission says. Many cover the meal up to a stated amount, repaid with your mission pay. If a mission does not cover it, it says that up front.

Who owns the photos?

When you upload for a mission, you license the photos to DishShots so the restaurant can use them. You keep the right to show them in your own portfolio.

What makes a photo get approved?

Sharp, well lit, the whole plate in frame, nothing eaten yet, and the dish on the mission list. The shot list builder above covers the basics.
